Chief of Police

City of Albia, IA (pop. 3721) is seeking candidates for Chief of Police. Salary is currently $75,000.00, with a sign-on bonus of $10,000.00.  Benefits package including, health, life, long & short-term disability insurance. Paid vacation, sick leave, holidays & IPERS. Candidates must have ILEA certification, at least six years’ experience in a public law enforcement agency and two years in a supervisory position and one year at a command level, possess a valid State of Iowa motor vehicle licenses and firearms permit. Pass a physical examination including drug tests. Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or and Associates Degree with acceptable job experience is desirable. EOE/AA.
