Salary and Benefits Information
Rank: Patrol Officer
Wage: One Year Probation Period from Date of Hire
Probationary (Pre-Academy Certification) $ 28.00/hr.
Certified Police Officer $ 32.00/hr.
Longevity Pay: Yes, up to 4% of annual base pay based on years of service beginning after completion of 3rd year of service.
Pension: Yes, I.P.E.R.S. as required by Iowa Law
Health Insurance: Yes, Blue Cross/Blue Shield provided by city
Short Term Disability provided by City.
Long Term Disability provided by City.
Life Insurance: Yes, $ 35,000 policy provided by city.
Sick Pay: Yes, with all members earning 1 day (8 hours) per month with a maximum accumulation of 24 days (192 hours)
Vacation: 6 months 40 hours
1-3 years 80 hours
After 3 years 120 Hours
After 9 years 160 Hours
After 15 years 184 Hours
Holidays: 10 Paid Holidays – can be used anytime during year
Clothing and Equipment Allowance: Yes, $750.00 a year – on Uniforms/Equipment Provided by Dept.
