These one-day courses will update and recertify instructors currently holding Iowa Law Enforcement Academy certification as defensive tactics instructors in new techniques and equipment. Practical and written examinations will be required. Required clothing and equipment will consist of ILEA Defensive Tactics Instructor Shirt or department polo/ training shirt, BDU style training pants, ballistic vest, athletic shoes, duty belt, handcuffs, and groin and mouth protection. No shorts or sweats please.
This class will meet in Miller Armory, rooms 125-126.
This will extend a valid certification for three years, expiring 12/31/2025.
Cost: $150
Agency will be invoiced after the class ends. ILEA does not accept pre-payment at this time.
