About the Training

The Iowa Law Enforcement Academy is presenting a five day leadership training program for senior law enforcement officials. This training course is designed for Chiefs, Sheriff’s, Upper Command Staff or those who are preparing themselves for Command or Chief Executive Positions. Managing and leading law enforcement agencies has never been more difficult and challenging than in today’s environment. This five day training program will prepare you for the challenges that today’s law enforcement leader’s face. This training course addresses police reform, effective management strategies, career killers, liability management, contemporary training concepts, how to lead and manage, recruitment and retention in this difficult time, resource acquisition, how to motivate your personnel, how to be a better leader, new approaches to internal affairs investigations, how to stretch your budget, community outreach programs, effective crime control strategies and much more. This training program is designed to be dynamic and interactive with several small group exercises. Over 3000 personnel from throughout the country have attended this training program.
